‘Best of Broadway’ all set for the School of Music

Our exciting new March showcase, entitled ‘Best of Broadway’, opens in the Cork School of Music (Curtis Auditorium) on Friday 20th March for two nights. With all Musical Theatre classes in the studio involved, this promises to be a showcase to remember. Students, ranging in age from five to twenty-five, will enthral the audience with all the well-known Broadway classics from our favourite shows. With gentle solo numbers, heart-warming duets and big, classy choral numbers, the best talent of the Cork Arts Studio will take the audience on a fantastic journey from the beginning of Broadway right up to the present day hits. As well as performing our favourite hits from the world of Musical Theatre, we are also proud to premiere two new compositions from past pupil Cian McCarthy. Cian is currently one of the world’s most sought-after Musical Directors, as he is the current Musical Director on Broadway of the 2008 smash hit ‘In The Heights’, which won the prestigious Tony Award 2008 for Best New Musical.
